A minor girl dead and dozen others fell ill after they consumed prasad served at a religious function in Udalguri district on Friday. The tragic incident took place in Kalaigaon area where a ten year old girl died early in the morning. At least 71 others have complained of stomach ace and vomitting hours after they consumed prasad.

The deceased was identified as Dipsikha Nath who died at the Mangaldai Civil Hospital. Talking to media, ADC DN Hazariaka said that the incident took place hours after they consumed prasad at the house of Harakanta Nath on Wednesday.

Python rescued at Dimakuchi

A baby python measuring 1.5 meter and weighing 2 kg was rescued at Sonajuli village near Dimakuchi in Udalguri district recently on July 18 at 11 am. Man elephant conflict continues in Udalguri: two dead

The man elephant conflict in Udalguri district has taken a new turn when two more people had lost their lives in last two days at Hatigarh and Orangajuli. In the first incident, one Biplab Das (32 ), a former AASU activist was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Ghagara near Hatigarh TE at 4.30 pm on July 16, while he was riding a bike. Man elephant conflict in Udalguri district has taken serious turn on July 9 when one Narayan Mandal (52) son of Rai Mohan Mandal of the village No.1 Barangajuli was trampled by a wild elephant at 8 pm on July 10 at his village in Barangajuli.
