The tenth national conference on social science titled “Re-imagining Social Science Researches: Global Context, National Perspectives and Regional Priorities” is going to be held on November 18-20. Organised by North Eastern Institute of Cultural Research, Guwahati, this research based conference is in academic collaboration with various regional research institutes of the country. This conference s expected to be attended by over 70 delegates, many of whom are well known sociologists, anthropologists and Professors/authors who are making a commendable contribution to the Social Science research output today.

Archbishop Thomas Menamparampil SDB will address the scholarly gathering after receiving Sanskriti Emeritus Fellow Life Time Achievement Award 2016. Prof. Dr. Stephen Mavely, VC, Assam Don Bosco University; Prof. Mridul Hazarika, VC, Gauhati University; Prof. Dhruba Jyoti Saikia, VC, Cotton College State University, Fr. Augustine P.A. SVD the chairperson of Sanskriti also will attend as guests of honour. Prof. A. C. Sinha, New Delhi, Dr. Walter Fernandes, Dr. R.P. Athparia, both from NESRC, Prof. S. R. Mondal of North Bengal University and Prof. Vijoy S. Sahay of Ranchi University will deliver special lectures. Prof. Stephen Fuchs Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Dr. Joachim Andrade SVD a well known anthropologist from Brazil while Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Memorial Lecture by Dr. Dilip K. Kalita, director, ABILAC, Guwahati and 4th Prof. Bhupen Mohan Das Memorial Lecture 2016 by Dr. Bhaskar Das, DHSK, Dibrugarh will also be special events of the seminar,
Prof. A. C. Bhagabati, Director, Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, NERC, Guwahati will preside over the Inaugural Session. Dr Melvil Pereira and Dr. Paul Pudussery will deliver the Keynote Address and Valedictory Lecture respectively. Fr. Manoj Antony SVD will deliver the welcome address and Dr. K. Jose SVD, director of Sanskriti will host the program.
