Fire service jawan injured

A fire & emergency service jawan received injury on his hand due to stone pelted by bandh supporters while rushing to douse tyre burn at Bhawanipur along JD Road in Kokrajhar district on Friday.

The Kokrajhar district committee of All BTC Bengali Youth Students Federation called 12-hours Kokrajhar district in protest against kidnapped of Ranjit Dutta, a businessman of Bhawanipur late Tuesday evening by unknown miscreants and demanded early recovery of Dutta.The bandh was evoke full response with road communication look deserted,financial institutions like bank, bazar, shops, markets remained off and most of the government offices also saw closed on the bandh, which was ended by 5 pm in the evening.

Bandh supporters and local publics from Titaguri area protested against kidnapped incident and burnt tyres on roads along JD Road at Bhawanipur demnading early safe return of Dutta,who was kidnapped by unknown miscreants three days back. It is a saw war of words in between police and bandh supporters over the tyre burnt on the road during bandh. Bandh supporters also blockade the road for nearly half an hour demanding immediate recovery of Dutta without any condition.

A fire tender bus rushed to douse the tyre burning laong JD Road at Bhawanipur,bandh supporters pelted stones at bus which broken glasses of the tender bus where a jawan of fire & emergency service received.He was identified as Mrighen Roy.He was admitted to nearby hospital.He said that he receieved injury on his hnad during stone pelting by bandh supporters he and his staff rushed the spot to douse tyre burnings. ‘Bandh supporters started pelting stones while the fire tender bus reach the road to douse tyre burns on the day’,Roy.

An ADC from Kokrajhar along with magistrates rushed the protest spot to take stock about situation and appealed agitated publics to calm down.He said that district police administration has been taking stern measures to rescue kidnapped Dutta.

Biju Saha,president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bengali Federation alleged that district administration has not taking serious initiative to rescue kidnapped Dutta even though 48 hours passed after incident.He has demanded early safe recovery of Dutta without any condition.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar.
