A mammoth security arrangement is in place at Guwahati along with Sadiya, Gogamukh and North Guwahati as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a day long visit to the state on Friday to boost the morale of the one year old BJP-led three party coalition government.
Firstly Modi is arriving in Sadiya where he is opening the country's longest ever bridge over the mighty Brahmaputra which has huge capacity to bear the weight of military equipment to Arunachal Pradesh bordering China.
The Dhola-Sadiya Bridge will be inaugurated tomorrow. This is one of the most important infrastructure projects in our nation.

I shall lay the foundation stone for two key projects- AIIMS & IARI. Both projects will quicken the development of Assam & the Northeast.

This would be followed by his visit to Gogamukh in Dhemaji district where the prime minister is laying the foundation stone of the Indian Agriculture Research Institute.
Immediately he will flying back to Guwahati to lay the foundation stone of the proposed AIIMS in North Guwahati despite stiff protest in Raha where it was earlier proposed.
Just before departing Guwahati, the prime minister is attending a function to mark thr first anniversary of the Sarbananda Sonowal government where Modi is addressing the nation.
