Doctors stage sit in dharna in Kokrajhar

Patients along the Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital have been deprived medical services till 11 am today due to sit in dharna carried out by doctors under the banner of Indian Medical Association(IMA), Kokrajhar branch  to put pressure government to solve their various issue and grievances in immediate manner. The demands are included empower of MBBS graduates in the country, capping the compensations in CPA on doctors, one drug one company one price, central anti quackery law etc.

 All doctors from Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital joined hands in the agitation which was started from 10 am to 11am on the day. The IMA said that doctors who are serving across the country in various hospitals are deprived from different frontal aspects and facilities since long years. Specially,doctors have to face lots of unwanted situation in their services which are creating resented in the services.The IMA urged the government to solve the issue and grievances of the doctors that are placed since long years. The doctors also demanded early stop of atrocities faced by the medical profession, implement inter- ministerial committee recommendations in six weeks, uniform final MBBS exam instead of 'NEXT'. Other demands placed from IMA are included,criminal prosecution of medical negligence and clerical errors is not acceptable,capping the compensation in CPA on doctors,professional autonomy in treatment and prescriptions,stringent central act against violence,amendments in PC PNDT, Central CEA, West Bengal CEA Acts,no unscientific mixing of systems of medicine, single window accountability,single window registration of doctors and medical establishments,no to NMC: Amend IMC act to maintain professional autonomy,uniform service conditions for doctors & faculty,IMA member in every government health committee,central anti-quackery law,reimbursement of emergency services for private sector, 25000 family medicine PG seats and health budget of 5 % of GDP for universal health coverage.

Dr AK Brahma,president of IMA Kokrajhar branch said that the doctors who are serving the medical in hospitals are face several problem and issues.He has urged the government to take bold measures while solving issue and grievances of the medical association.

Dr K Das and Dr B Bhowal,doctors in Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital said that they observed sit-in dharna seeking eraly solutions of various demands that are place since long years.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar. The incident occurred along ride no. 1 under the Jharbari range of the Haltugaon forest division in Kokrajhar district, where the smuggler was fatally shot while transporting logs on a cycle from deep within the forest. Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district.
