Three AANLA cadres apprehended in Udalguri

Army of 14 Dogra Regiment under Red Horns Division apprehended three All Adivasi National Liberation Army (AANLA) cadres at Naobandha village in Udalguri district on June 22.Army personnel with Assam police  ambushed an ultra group when three suspected cadre tried to flee,but were caught hold of.The apprehended AANLA cadres were John Xalxo, son of Carlos Xalxo;Amruss  Orang,son of Ranjit Orang and Leius Orang,son of late Benedict Orang.All the three youths were the residents of village Deochunga under Goreswar police station in Baksa district.Several arms and ammunition,including one .22 mm pistol with magazine, three rounds of ammunition;one 7.65 mm pistol with magazine and three rounds of ammunition; one 9 mm pistol with magazine and three rounds of ammunition;one shot gun etc were recovered from their possesion.

Bail for Mani Kumar Subba

A lower court in Guwahati on Wednesday granted bail to former Congress MP Mani Kumar Subba in connection with a rape case registered against him. The bail was granted when the court was hearing a bail petition he moved in the court recently.


Chandmari police station registered the case on the basis of the complaint lodged by a lady Sikha Sarma who alleged that the Congress leader repeatedly raped her.


AGP leaders visited Flooded areas

The central AGP members and MP Kumar Deepak Das today visited the flooded areas of Barpeta District under Sarbhog LAC. In this visit Gunindra Nath Das, MLA, Barpeta; central AGP members David Ledger, Dhruba Talukdar, Mukul Das and MP Kumar Deepak Das took part. The group also demanded to construct a braille bridge at Dumunighat under Sarbhog LAC in Barpeta district. In this regard they submitted a memorandum to the Deputy commissioner of Barpeta along with some other demands like --rehabilitation of the flood victims, food for the cattles etc.The Deputy commissioner of Barpeta assured the AGP leaders to solve these problems as per as possible.

Women found dead in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: A mysterious death of a woman in Kokrajhar no less spreads sensation in Sesapani area from Monday morning.

The Adivasi women was found dead in a house where she has been staying for the last three days.

Police rushed to the house where the mother of two children was found dead under mysterious circumstances. But by then Insaf Ali, in whose house the woman stayed vanished.

Local residents called it an incident of killing since Insaf had an illecit affair with the Adivasi woman who worked with a tea garden.
