Organic tea production can boost economy

 Organic tea cultivation is yet another option that can boost the entire industry. It can change the face of the state’s economy within a short spell of time. This was more of less of what the experts said at a workshop in Namrup on Saturday. 

Poribekh Suraksha Santha organised the workshop on organic tea and farming in collaboration with Assam Yuba Parishad Naharkatia Subdivision and Komar Gaon Yuba Sangha  in Komar Gaon Open Public  Stage . 

The workshop was inaugurated by Mitali Boruah Gogoi, Secretary of Namrup Poribekh Suraksha Santha under the chairmanship of Tileswar Borah  Secretary of BVFCL Fertilizer Union Namrup. 

The workshop is  presided by two resource persons Dr . Aradhana Boruah Geologist and Arun Sarmah  Micro - organist researcher from Assam Agriculture Research centre Under Dibrugarh University. 

Dr. Aradhana Boruah, Geologist from Assam Agriculture Research centre Under Dibrugarh University said , " North East basically Assam is known for Farming as it is culture of every Assamese people in Assam and also said that what is farming , use and types of farming, Use of organic Urea , and also said that Narendra Modi has declared as Northeast as zone of  Organic Hub and  also about Prime Minister Scheme on Soil Health Card ". 

Arup Sarmah, Micro Organist from Assam Agriculture Research centre Under Dibrugarh University said, " The maximum use of Pesticides is now becoming dangerous in our day to day life . Due to which it is effecting to Fertility of people's in day to day life ".    

Dalim Borah, Organic Tea producer was felicitated in the workshop where the  workshop Amrit Sagar Saikia, Pangeri Organic Tea Farmer ,  Jiten Gogoi  Social worker, Anima Gogoi  President of Namrup  Poribekh Suraksha Santha ( Namrup Environment Safety Union) along with more than one hundreds people attended.

People in the Namrup daily bazar paid their homage to the Pulwama martyrs.  The programme was organsied by daily bazaar shop keepers assoctiation and local people of the area.
The 11 hour Assam bandh called by North East Students Organization ( NESO ) and All Assam Student Union ( AASU ) , supported by many other organizations opposing the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 was total in Namrup. The town wore a deserted look as vehicles of all kinds remained off the road. Schools and colleges, shops and markets, banks and offices were seen closed. The bandh supporters burnt tyers at Namrup Sonari Tiniali , BVFCL Main Gate , APL Main Gate and Sarmah Tiniali to stop the movement of vehicles.
The Namrup regional unit of All Assam Student Union ( AASU ) organsied protest against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 by blocking the road and burning tyers at Sonari tiniali. The demonstrators shouted slogans against the state and central governments exibiting play card "Kendriya Government Hai Hai, Raijya Sarkar Murdabad, Mukhyamantri kam nai". More than one hundred AASU activists and local people took part in the protest.
The year long Golden Jubilee of Namrup Sahitya Sabha is coming to an end with various cultural programmes. The programme was inagurated by working president Satrasingh Deuri. Seminar, poetry, cultural night, Book release were part of the event.
Namrup: AASU regional Committee observed the Swahid Divas on Monday with hosting of flag in Namrup Sonari Tiniali Swahid Mandap by regional committee president Kalpajit Gogoi. Assam Jatiyata Badi Yuba chatra Parishad , Namrup Tai Ahom Student Union  ,  Fertiliser Workers Union , Fertiliser  Swarmik Union , Gramya Unnayan Sangha etc and schools  and colleges representative took part in the event.
Polling concluded peacefully in the  three  panchayats - Kachari Pathar, Namrup and Santipur Panchayat - with 75 percent voter turnout. Situation became tense when more than 50 voters were deprived from voting in Santipur. 
Namrup: Thousands of people thronged Namrup against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 in a protest rally organised by the All Assam Student Unionalong with with 28 other organisations which started from Namrup-Sonari  tiniali. "We totally regret that our Chief Minister and the Prime Minister are playing games with our motherland. It pains to see how the Chief minister keeping  himself mum who once pledge to detect and deport the outsiders" thus reacts All Dibrugarh District Student Union Assistant General Secretary Abani Kumar Gogoi. The largest ancient Hindu festival, dedicated to Lord Surya and Chhathi Maiya (known to be the wife of Surya), Chhath Puja is unique to the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh and the country of Nepal. It is the only Vedic festival that is dedicated to the Sun God. The festival was celebrated in Namrup and it's neighbouring area with flavours on Tuesday.  
Namrup: There was total bandh in Namrup during the Assam Bandh called by 46 organisations in the state opposing citizenship amendment Bill 2016. Protesters burnt tyres in BVFCL Main Gate,  Sonari Tiniali, Namghar Chariali, Salibasa. Marketing complex, Schools, colleges, Government and private offices, Banks were all closed during the bandh.
