Bodo Thunlai San in BTAD areas

The Bodo Sahitya Sabha observed 66th Bodo Thunlai San (Bodo Sahitya Divos) along with day-long programme scheduled across the state on Thursday.

BTC administration observed local holiday on Thursday on account of Bodo Sahitya Divos (Bodo Thunlai San) for four districts of the council in respect of all transferred subjects.

The divos was organized centrally at RNB Bhawan, head office of the sabha by four district units of Bodo sahitya sabha-Kokrajhar,Gossaigaon,Parbatjhora and Chirang district. The Bodo sahitya Sabha was founded on today's day at Basugaon in 1952 and since then working for the literary uplift and literary creations of the Bodos.

  Jaybhadra Hagjer and Sonaram Thaosen was founder president and general secretary of the sabha respectively.

In Kokrajhar,Toren Boro, president of Bodo sahitya sabha hoisted sabha flag on the occasion while Ranjit Kumar Borgoyary, founder member Bodo sahitya sabha and ex-president of Tribal Sangha paid floral tribute to martyrs.

The Bodo sahitya sabha observed  the Bodo Sahitya Divos with various programme scheduled in different districts across BTAD areas.

Successful personalities on different fields like students, sports, business entrepreneurships, literary awardees were accorded warm felicitation on the occasion with traditional Aronai and bunch of flowers that are included Prof Anju Narzary Basumatary,Sahitya Akademy awradee,Pwilao Basumatary,international boxer,Saura Borgoyary,business enterpreneurships.

Padmashri(Dr) Kameswar Braham,former president of the Bodo sahitya sabha, Brajendra Kumar Brahma,noted author and Sahitya Akademy awardee, Krishna Gopal Basumatary, Director of UN Academy, Kokrajhar presented paper reading on the seminar that was organized on the ‘Bodo medium education and language upliftment’ topic to mark the ‘Bodo sahitya Divos’. The seminar was chaired by Toren Boro, president of the sabha.

 

Former BTC executive member Derhasat Basumatary,Rabishankar Borgoyary,BTC education Director,Charan Narzary,senior citizen and former MP were prominent attendees on the occasion.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar.
