Ankushita feted in Kokrajhar

Gold medalist pugilist Ankushita Boro received a heroic welcome as she landed Kojrajhar first time after scripting history. 

BTADB administration along with several other organisations  felicitated her at a programme at the KDSA ground in the evening.

Ankushita was  felicitated at a programme held at Reality Public School,Chandamari with traditional Aronai,bunch of flowers and handed over a cheque of Rs. 50,000 as a token of appreciation by school authority in the presence of student and guardians.

BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary felicitated Ankushita with bunch of flower and and handed  over cheque of ₹7lakhs on the occasion recognising her best boxer.

Several organisations, apart from BPF, Bodo sahitya sabha, Bodo Writers Academy, Boro Somaj, ex BLT welfare society, Assam Football Association,
Ankushita Boro,Kokrajhar sports association, Kokrajhar Press club.

Mohilary said she would be made Bodoland's Sports Ambasador to gain sports enthusiastic among coming up generations. He promise to provide all possible helps  for Ankushita in the sporting career in coming days.

'BTC administration is opening Bodoland sports academy in the region which will be started by next year. For the academy,BTC administration will be spending 100 crores', Mohilary said.

 'I am preparing for the Olympic event in coming day with heart and soul. I would be a perfect boxer in the world in my life. Even though, my family face a financial hardship, yet come out with dedicated mind. My parents supported me whole heartedly. I will carry on my career to be best boxer '.

SK Brahma,CMD of Reality Public School said that the school authority organised the felicitation function to create encouragement among young generations in the region.

Dr Subash Basumatary,Director of Sports Authority of India(SAI) appealed to all present to take sports and gmaes with equal passion.He has appreciated Ankushita for her best performance in the recent concluded boxing championship.

BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary extended  best wishes on her excellent performance in the world boxing chmapionship.He said that BTC administration is felicitating her in Kokrajhar and will be extending help in her career building in near future.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar. A five-day mountaineering training program, organized by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare department of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government, begins on Thursday at the Dangdupur Hills Site in Kokrajhar. On Friday, the government of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) observed the third BTR Peace Accord Day as "Day of Peace" on Friday.  A massive bike peace rally was held in Kokrajhar, the "City of Peace." Three individuals, including former MLA and senior BPF (Bodoland People's Front) leader Hitesh Basumatary, were arrested by police in Baksa district after a search operation at Basumatary's residential complex resulted in the recovery of a large cache of illegal arms and ammunition.
