Bridge turning death trap in Dhalpur

LAKHIMPUR: A vital bridge in the Dhalpur area in Lakhimpur district might turn into a death trap at any moment.

For the last couple of years the bridge over the river Pishola has been lying in a shamble in Athabari area. With no alternative route, the local residents have been running the risk of their lives on every passing moments as they cross the bridge in dilapidated condition.

Even the school boys also find it quite difficult to cross it fearing collapse at any moment. Local residents told Assam Times that they have been repeatedly apprising the authority of their plights. But of no avail. How long will this condition stay?
