Tea workers burnt minister’s effigy

Kokrajhar: Tea estate worker and Chah Mazdoor Sangha burnt the effigy of labour minister Pallav Lachan Das’ for not addressing the grievances on the hike of daily wages.

Hundreds of tea-estate labours, activists from All Adivashi Student's Association of Assam(AASAA),Akhil Bharatiya Chah Mazdoor Sangha(ABCMS),Centre for Trade Unions(CITU) participated the protest demonstration at Kokrajhar tea-estate with banner, placards and shouted slogans early hike of daily wage Rs.350 from 136, provide proper amenities to the tea-estate workers.

The agitators demanded early hike of daily wages besides ensuring proper amenities to the tea estate workers in the state. The protestors slammed the BJP led state government for not taking any measures while making fulfillment to the promises that kept during elections among tea-estate areas in the state.
