In a bid to tap the budding potential of school students in
athletics the 1st Inter-
Udalguri District School Atheletics Meet-2018 was organized here at
Tangla Stadium ground in
Udalguri district on Saturday. The event organized by
Tangla Sports Association was witnessed widespread participation of nearly 300 athletes from 25 different schools of
Udalguri district. The
sports competitions included Running Race,Long Jump,High Jump,Javelin,Discuss,Shotput Throw,
Rally among others were held for both Boys and Girls categories. The opening ceremony was attended by former Panery MLA,Kumud

Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) EM Ganesh Kachari today inaugurated a model hospital at Bhergaon of Udalguri district .Talking to mediapersons, Kachari said that the BTC has not got their share of fund of Rs 12.19 per cent from State Government till now. “Due to this the BTC administration had to undergo hardships ,” he said. A herd of wild elephants created havoc in Rajapara area near the Indo-Bhutan border of Udalguri district on Monday morning last. Wild Tusker damaged the walls and ate paddy stocks in the house of one Mahendra Deka. Two other commercial shops at Nalapara chowk area were also damaged by the Tusker. Though forest officials were informed about the matter they had turned deaf ear to it alleged the local residents.
