NDFB-S link man held with arms

KOKRAJHAR: Security forces have intensified search operation against militant outfit organization and apprehended a link man of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Saoraigwra faction (NDFB-S) along with arms and ammunitions at Dwimuguri under Panbari police outpost in Chirang district on Sunday morning.

A joint team of security forces belonging to Bijni police,Garwhal regiment of Indian army, CRPF have conducted a search operation at a house of Raju Brahma at  Dwimuguri village under Panbari police outpost in Chirang district and recovered arms and ammunitions from his residential complex.

The arms and ammunitions were kept buried at his residential complex.

Security forces conducted the search operation having a confession of keeping secretly of arms and ammunitions as one Sunilal Boro revealed the information.

Sunilal was recently arrested by police at Bilashipara in Dhubri district with arms and thus,security forces carried out a search operation led by Bijni SDPO Prakash Medhi.

Later security forces apprehended Raju Brahma (23) from whom recovered arms and ammunitions.

Recoveries were included a country made SBBL gun,10 live rounds of 7.62,one hand grenade and some objectionable documents.

Raju Brahma was working as link man of the NDFB-S since many years in the area.He was arrested by forest department for poaching of Tiged few three months back in the region.Police administration has been taking stern initiatives against the militant outfit and anti-social activities in the region,said a senior police officer.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar. The incident occurred along ride no. 1 under the Jharbari range of the Haltugaon forest division in Kokrajhar district, where the smuggler was fatally shot while transporting logs on a cycle from deep within the forest.
