Bomb recovered at Rangia

A bomb was recovered at Rangia market in the early hours today during a joint operation launched by Rangia Police and Red Horns Division Engineers Regiment. Acting on specific information security personnel recovered the bomb kept inside a hume pipe inside the market. The bomb is Improvised Explosive Device ane weight is approximately 8 kgs. No person has been arrested till now though the investigation is on. Senior police and civil administration officials have visited the spot.

Baihata Chariali Police today apprehended two NDFB cadre from Baihata Chariali. Police has recovered one 9mm Pistol and 7 live rounds from their possession. Names of both the ultras are yet to be disclosed.

Student Killed in road mishap

One student namely Samnur Ali (12) was killed in a road mishap took place today at NH 31 at Kamalpur in Kamrup district of Assam at around 9-45am. According to the police sources Samnur Ali, a student of Kamalpur MV school got severe injury when he was hit by a truck No. WB -41/ 3109 on the way to his school. He breathed his last on the way to GMCH. The truck was seized from Rangia by Kamalpur Police.

ULFA cadre apprehended at Sualkuchi

Kamrup Police today apprehended one ULFA cadre namely Mintu Kalita (22) from Bamundi under Sualkuchi PS under Kamrup district of Assam. Police has recovered some documents pertaining to ULFA. Mintu was involved with many extortion activities. He is a member of 709 battalion of ULFA.

Militant held in Kamalpur

An ULFA militant namely Ritul Sarma (25) was apprehended today at Haripur village under Kamalpur PS of Kamrup district by Kamrup Police, Troops of Red Horns Division of the Indian Army and CRPF.The militant is under the custody of Kamalpur Police station.

Seven granades recovered from public bus at Tamulpur

Four NDFB cadre were killed in an encounter with the troops of Red Horns Division deployed at Goreswar and Bagsa district Police took place at Kahibari village under Goreswar Police station in Bagsa district today at around 10-30am. Kamrup Police apprehended one hardcore ULFA militant namely Nripen Das (29) from Hajo under Kamrup district last night. According to police sources a police team led by Swapnanil Deka,APS, ASP Kamrup launched a search operation acting on specific information and captured the militant. Nripen Das was a cadre of 709 battalion of ULFA and was involved in many activities including extortion.
