An ULFA cadre died at an encounter at Sarthebari area in Barpeta district on Friday evening.
According to information, the encounter between the ULFA militants and a team of police and CRPF jawans took place at Na-Satra and the militant was identified Trailakya Deka.
Acting on some specific inputs of ULFA presence in the area, a team of police and the CRPF jawans was launching an operation where they locked in an encounter with three ULFA rebels.
Policman Younis Ali sustained was injured in the encounter. Police and security forces are looking for two other rebels who managed to flee from the spot.
