Assam Congress full list by March 15

The All India Congress Committee will announce the list of 8 candidates on March 15 for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls for Assam a day after it cleared the names of six candidates.

According to information, the party's poll cell in Delhi is holding several rounds of talks at the residence of AICC general secretary in charge of Assam affairs Veerappa Moily to finetune the list.

The names cleared so far are B K Handique for Jorhat, Biren Dingh Ingty for Diphu, Pawan Singh Ghatowar for Dibrugarh, Deep Gogoi for Kaliabor, Parimal Suklavaidya for Dhubri and Santosh Mohan Dev for Silchar.

The party has yet to clear the list for Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Karimganj, Guwahati, Mongaldoi and Barpeta seats where hectic lobbying are on for tickets. Top ranked APCC leaders including Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and state Congress president Bhubneswar Kalita are also camping in Delhi.
