A blueprint of a major NDFB strike was averted when Assam Rifles recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from Assam’s Sonitpur district of Assam on Thursday morning.
According to information, the arms and ammunitions belonged NDFB’s third battalion which were kept inside a trunk and was recovered by 44 and 46th Asam Rifles jawans at Ghoamara Dhekidol in Sonitpur district. These include a 27 rounds of AK-47 bullets, 5 empty cartages of point 3 NOY 3, 110 detonators, 199 wireless detonators, 3 BDFB cash memo books, 500 grams of IED palatches, 2 time watches, some batteries, 12 gelatin sticks along with 7.63 MM carbine machine gun, a 15 kg UED, 200 meter long flexible wire, , a political map.
NDFB’s blueprint was perceived from the political map where Bhalukpung, Balipara, Dhekiajuli and Dekargaon were marked red as possible strike spots. The rebels of the Bodo militant out as believed to have fled from the spot before the arrival of the Assam Rifles jawans.
