Defeating terrorism in the right way

Perhaps everyone might have come across the story in the newspapers about Aten Timung's wife who had to taken to prostitution after her husband’s death in the 30th October Blast. These days all things related to the Black Friday, has once again started coming to light after the arrest of Ranjan Daimary, the Chief accused of the October 30 blast. In fact, Assam has witnessed hundreds of horrible incidents of bomb blasts and the darker of the darkest sides of insurgency problem. And of course there are many untold stories related to insurgency victims. No doubt the arrest of Ranjan Daimary and Arabinda Rajkhowa has given some sigh of relief to the people of Assam. But the pain of those families like that of Aten Timung's will never be healed.

The fact that the wife of Late Aten timung, getting into prostitution to run her family sounds very hurting, and helpless but can the society simply shrug of their morale responsibility towards victim families specially like that of Aten's. The October 30 blast was in fact carried by some notorious peoples who can be no excused, but I believe the society should have take more morally responsible to have showed the right way to Aten's wife. We merely can't escape blaming the blast for the compulsion of the poor lady.

So who has pushed the family into prostitution? Where was our society, the neighbours and the social workers? Are we all not morally responsible for this plight of this family? Isn’t this act of terrorism in disguise? Yes, we have too many terrorism in disguises in our society, what you say about corruption, the hypocrite society, the discrimination acts. I still remember when Meghalaya governor R S Musahary, said terrorism in disguise is more dangerous and there is no disagreeing to it. So it is not that because Aten Timung died in the blast, his wife became a prostitute, it is because the society was not there to guide her the right way. Until a tree bears fruit and give shadow it is always good or else it becomes useless. But can human being be treated in the same manner, see who’s taking a note of the beggars dying on the streets, the same thing happened to Timung, s family. There was so much of hue and cry after the blast, how I wish a little energy was saved to shout for the right of the Blast victims, specially like Timung's family, things would not have taken an ugly turn.

All the militant organisation or insurgent groups or so called rebels who thinks they are doing great favour by killing innocent peoples might have drawn lot of courage listening and reading about Che Guevara, and his revolution. But the militants should know what Guevara says "Terrorism is a measure that is generally ineffective and indiscriminate in its effect since it often makes victims on innocent people and destroy a large number of life that would be valuable to the revolution besides it hinders all the more or less legal or semi clandestine contact with the masses and makes impossible unification for actions that will be necessary at a critical moment.”

Cleanliness is next to godliness. There have been a lot of awareness camps, programs and lectures about cleanliness, becoming environment friendly, keeping the city clean.
