New Executive Body of Nagaon Press Club formed

New executive body of Nagaon Press Club was formed through elections on sunday at the Nagaon Press Club office . The past executive committee which was there since last 2.5 years gave an account of all the activites and financials of the Club for their term.


The new body was elected through voting and the names of new office bearers is as follows: Sri Kanak Hazarika – President , Sri Pragyan kalita – General Secretary ,Sri Sailan Saikia – Treasurer , Sri Palash Ranjan Das – Vice president, Sri Badiya Nath Sahni – Vice President ,Sri Siba Prasad Bora – Vice President, Sri Manav Jyoti Bora- Asst. Secretary,Sri Rabindra Sah – Asst. Secretary, Sri Usman Ahmed – Asst. Secretary, Sri Miju Borah – Office Incharge , Sri Jyoti Barkataki – Magaizne Secretary,


The executive members are : Sri Vikash Sharma , Sri Jaiprakash Singh, Sri Palash Pritam Hazarika,Sri Hemen Kr. Das,Sri Ajit Maheshwari, Sri Indramohan Bora, Sri sameer Hazarika, Sri Sunil Rai, Sri Mithu Mugda Gohain.


The Advisors to the Nagaon Press Club are : Dr. Abu Hanifa , Sri Munindra Saikia , Sri Jadav Saikia ,Sri Bolin Borah, Sri B K Bhattacharya.


The Name of General secretary Sri Pragyan kalita was proposed by Sri Vikash sharma.


The entire proceedings of the Nagaon Press club were completed in a healthy and sporty atmosphere.

Sunil Kumar, IPS Joins as Nagaon SP

Owing to a recent reshuffle in the top echoleons of the State police department , Shri Sunil Kumar 2007 Batch IPS of the Assam - Meghalaya cadre has joined as Superintendent of Police of Nagaon District.He was previously posted as SP Morigaon District. Mishap in Nagaon: six dead and nine injured

Six persons, including a pregnant woman, died in a tragic road mishap at Puranigudam in Nagaon district. The mishap took place in the afternoon where four died on-the-spot. Two others succumbed to their injuries at hospital. Seven other passengers, who sustained grievous injuries, have been admitted to Nagaon Civil Hospital. The victims included the driver and the proprietor of the Tata Magic vehicle. The passengers were on their way to Jakhalabandha from Nagaon town in the same district. The incident took place when a passenger-carrying Tata Magic vehicle collided head-on with a truck coming from opposite direction at Kakhari village on the National Highway Number 37.

Road Blockade on NH 37 in Nagaon

The depot in charge and weights in charge of FCI godown situated at Senchowa, Nagaon, Dipti Khatonia and Krishna Sarmah were detained at Haibargaon Police Station on Wednesday for questioning. Dead Body of a youth recovered

The dead body of a youth was recovered in Burrapahar area under Jhaklabanda Police station in Nagaon district on Thursday afternoon.The dead body has been identified as Sonal Banerjee (26 yrs) resident of Rehabari in Guwahati. The dead body was bearing bullet injuries in the head and there were wounds on the neck as well. The relatives of Sonal Banerjee arrived from guwahati around 3pm in the afternoon and identified the dead body today at Nagaon Civil Hospital. The relatives of the dead person alleged that one Vishal Agarwal ,30 resident of Guwahati as the main accused. Vishal Agarwal has been detained by the police at Sonapur police station.

Violence in Uzaragaon village, Nagaon

One Mintu Ahmed of Panikheti village was caught stealing telephone cables from Uzaragaon village by the residents of the area in the night. The accused was caught, thrashed by the public, and tied up inside the village library. The police arrived in the morning and found the person dead.
