Foundation day of Moran Sahitya Sabha on January 29


The third establishment day of Moran Sahitya Sabha will be held at Kushal Nagar, Moran on january 29. On this occasion the fine-arts, debate and essay competitions for students are being organised. In the open session, Jibantara Ghatowar, MLA, Moran will be present as special guest. In this meeting the annual mouthpiece of the branch “ Pratiti” will be released by Ex. MP, Sarbananda Sonowal.


A discussion on “The dedication of Dr. Hazarika in literature” will also be held in which the Ex. Principal of Moran college, Dr. Dayananda Borgohain, noted poet Nirud Gohain and the Headmaster of Botamora High School, Lekhok Gogoi will participate as resource persons.

Dillibari Gaon Panchayat, under Tingkhong development block has laid the foundation stone of gravel road in the Amarjyoti Arandhara, the secretary general of Tai Ahom National Council on Monday at Ghahi Pathar, under MNREGA scheme. The total length of the road will be 6.5 kilometer and it will cost about 4 lakh. The Tai Ahom National Council demands demand one seat in the up coming Rajya Sabha election from Assam. According to their Secretary General, Amar Jyoti Arandhara, after Bhadeswar Buragohain, from Asom Gana Parishad, in 1987 during the first term of AGP rule and Drupod Borgohain during the second term of AGP rule, all parties are denying Ahom Candidate for Rajya Sabha seat. The second biennial conference of Me-Nang-Rai will be held on May 9-10 at Tai Cultural Development Centre, Tingrai, Tinsukia district. One Babul Gogoi (12) died in a mishap at Santak-Gorchuk, Simoluguri on Saturday. The mishap occured when the deceased was collecting money for a Bihu Sonmilon, organised locally at Kenduguri. The boy with his friends was collecting of money from vehicles plying on the Romoni Ali, which connects Simoluguri and Naginimora. When they tried to stop a dumper coming towards Simoluguri who refused to stop and the members tried to stop the vehicle forcefully. According to eye witness, the deceased climbed up on the vehicle to stop it. After runing few distance the vehicle slipped away from the road and the deceased came under the Vehicle and died on the spot.
Tai Ahom Development Council, in association with Siu-Ka-Pha Tai Cultural Centre of Bokota is running a 15-days workshop at Purbojyoti Club of Bokota-Parijat of Sivasagar district from February 19 to March 3. about 35 students from Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Golaghat and Sivasagar district are joining the workshop. Foundation stone of anti-erosion protection scheme at Dikhow river, near Achala Pathar-Dihingia Gaon, was laid down by Rajib Luson Pegu, Water Resource Minister of Assam. The total estimate for this scheme is Rs.6.80 crore. According to the technical specification, 500 meters dyke with modern geo-tube technology and 1300 meters embankment will be constructed under this scheme.
