An AASU delegation net chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday in New Delhi a day before the tripartite talks on the implementation of the Assam Accord.
Sonowal, who has been camping in the capital met the five member student delegation at the Assam Bhawan where they discussed the main agenda of the talks on Wednesday with Union home minister Rajnath Singh in the chair.
Led by adviser Dr Samujjal Bhattacharya, the team is set to demand the time bound implementation of the historic Accord. Adviser and educationist Basants Deka, president Dipankar Nath and general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi were present in the meeting with Sonowal.
The move to amend the Indian Citizenship Bill, 1955 is bound to prevent the government from implement the Accord where the illegal settlers are proposed to be pushed back irrespective of religion.
