Congress forms alliance with AIUDF

Setting aside all speculations the Congress has, on January 19 formally forged alliance with five other parties including the Badaruddin Ajmal-led AIUDF. This was announced by APPC president Ripun Bora in a conference. Bora informed that apart from the AIUDF the Grand Old party has also cemented pre-poll alliance with CPI, CPI(M), CPI(ML) and the Anchalik Gana Marcha(AGM). He also said that the party is ready to form alliance with more other like-minded parties to take on the BJP in the upcoming Assam assembly elections. “ We keep door open for forming alliance with other like-minded parties,” he added. Speaking on the occasion Rajya Sabha MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan has termed the day as a historic day.
