Generator thieves held, stolen items recovered

RAHA:  Raha police on Tuesday arrested two miscreants and recovered 2 Ahuja Sound Box and 1 Generator , all to the tune of over  Rs. 50,000 from their possession.

Mrigen Saikia, officer in-charge of Raha police station, told Assam Times  that the accused persons were identified as Raktim Patar, s/o Anil Patarof Lauphulabori  and Rakib Hussain, s/o Nur Hussain of Dighaliati Ati gaon area under Raha PS. The first accused was a daily wage earner while the other was an E-rikshaw driver.

Acting on the complaint lodged by one Barsha Seuji Nath, secretary of Dighaliati Gaon Panchayat, police apprehended the accused from their respective villages. The recovered items were stolen from the conference hall of Dighaliati Gaon Panchayat office.

" We received a tip-off about the thieves location on Tuesday. We laid a trap and took them into custody," the Officer in-charge said.

When police interrogated the accused regarding the purchase of the materials, they could not show any paper documents and confessed to the police of committing the crime, Saikia further added.

Meanwhile, the accused were booked with a Raha P S case no. 328 / 21 under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC.
