Jahar Brahma dies

Kokrajhar: Noted social worker  and editor of bodo daily Bodoland Sansri died on Saturday night around 11.45 pm at a private hospital in Guwahati. He was 68 years oldw. 

Brahma was suffering from japanese encephalitis and was under going treatment at a private nursing home in Guwahati for the couple of weeks. Brahma was closely associated with Brahma dharma and social organisatons. He leaves behind his wife, a son, two daughters and host of relatives and well wishers. 

Many people and organisations including Kokrajhar press club have expressed grief and condolences over his demise and pray for peace the departed soul.

Footballer Apurna Narzary to receive Emerging Player award in Bodoland Territorial Region

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar.
