Art workshop for children starts in Guwahati

A weeklong art workshop for children and young people was inaugurated on March 24 in the city. Organized for the time the workshop targeting non-artists was inaugurated by Krishna Goswami, professor of Government Art College Assam. Journalist Nava Thakuria attended the inaugural function as special guest.

The technical workshop on visual arts depicting Indian culture has witnessed the participation of over 100 children which has been organized by Kala Academy Foundation, Guwahati with support from Union Cultural Ministry.

"The participants will create their own paintings during the workshop and those will be displayed later in an exhibition for the benefit of art appreciators," said Arundhati Choudhury (Polly), the prime organizer and tutor of the workshop.
