BTAD burning again: 3 killed

Bullets seem to have riddled BTAD again. In a fresh orgy of violence, unidentified miscreants shot dead three of a family and four others including a journalist were shot at in BTAD areas on Thursday.

The first incident took place at Ananda Bazar in Baska in the evening when four bicycle born armed miscreants started indiscriminate firing at the house of a religious minority family where three died on the spot. Three others including a child sustained injury in the attack. Immediately after the attack, the militants fled away. Policemen arrived in the spot and cordoned off the entire area in search of the culprits. The injured have been shifted to the hospital.

The attack took place three hours after unidentified miscreants shot at a local scribe in Kokrajhar who incidently happens to be a supporter of Nava Sarania, the independent candidate from Kokrajhar. Dhananjoy Nath, the local correspondent of the Dainik Janasadharan and Secretary of Kokrajhar Press Club sustained injury at his hand who is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
