AIUDF retains Jamunamukh

AIUDF retains Jamunamukh assembly seat in the by polls on conducted on Saturday.

Party candidate Abdur Rahim Ajmal defeated his nearest rival Congress candidate B Laskar by a margin of 22,959 votes.

The son of party chief Badarudin Ajmal obtained 62,163 votes leaving the BJP candidate in the third place.

 

Earlier, polling started at 8 in the morning after the authorities opened the strong rooms amid tight security measures.
