No more relief camps please
It may sound unfair indeed these days. Kokrajhar district administration meets with increasing difficulties to continue the releif camps in the schools and colleges.
Studentsa and teachers alike in the district demand immediaye withdrawal of the camps aleging it unfair in the time of Saraswati puja and HSLC and HS examinations.
Students of Patgaon High School staged dharna with placards demanding removal of relief camps from school as Adivasi peoples are taking sheltering after carnage by NDFB(S) militants on December 23 last.
Students and teachers organised the Saraswati puja at open ground instead of school complex on Sunday stating that the school is facing uncongenial atmosphere due relief camp since December 25 last in the school and altogether 886 students are participating the HSLC examination beginning from February 19 next.
Sunith Kumar Iswary,officer in-charge of Patgaon HSLC examination centre in Kokrajhar said that the school authority had intimated to the concern department about situation,yet till date the camps were not shifted as the HSLC examination 2015 will start from February 19 next where 886 candidates participating the examination and no any preparation can’t be initiated to hold the examination.
He has demanded early shifting of relief camp from school and extend help to conduct the examination other wise it will not be conducted examination in this centre,he added.
Inmates at the school said that the government has not been giving proper steps to shift them at their villages that’s why they are living the school.
