Uncertainty on Anup homecoming

When will Anup Chetia be back to his birthplace? Again this question   hits media headline after a brief silence. The answer is uncertain. New Delhi and Dhaka have been holding several rounds of meetings. But the solution eludes time and again.

The issue figured in the home secretary level bilateral talks in New Delhi on Tuesday. Despite repeated requests, Dhaka refused to indicate anything. As the issue came up for discussion,

Bangladesh home secretary Dr Md Mozammel Haque Khan avoided the plea and instead mounted pressure for ratification of the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA).

When the direct reply was sought from the reporters, Bangladesh Home Secretary Mozammel Haque Khan said that the top ULFA leader will be returned which is nothing new.

Union Home Secretary LC Goyal, his Secretary for Border Management Sneh Lata Kumar, and Director General of Border Security Force DK Pathak attended the meeting.
