A five-day workshop on the compilation of a dictionary for 22 scheduled languages of India has began today at R K Purum in New Delhi,was organized by the Ministry of Human Resource Department and Central Directorate of Hindi (CHD) and continuing till May 1 next.
Prof. Kishorilal Verma, Director of Central Directorate of Hindi inaugurated the workshop in the presence of intellectual and experts from various literary organisation and educationists.
A three-member team of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) participated the workshop which included sabha general secretary Kamala Kanta Mushahary, vice-president Biseswar Basumatary and member Birendra Kumar Basumatary.
Mushahary told from New Delhi that the sabha team will seek appointment from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister of Human Resource department Smriti Irani, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Joel Oram and Union Minister of State for Sports and Youth Welfare Sarbananda Sonowal to press their various demands during their stay in New Delhi.
He inform that four projects including Bodo-Hindi Bartalab, Hindi-Bodo-English dictionary were completed with the help of the Central Directorate of Hindi after the inclusion of Bodo language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution and adding said that making of an audio for Bodo-Hindi Bartalab was on the way of completion. He has expressed his confident that the Bodo language would be recognized as one of the developing languages in India provided completion of various projects for the compilation of dictionary. Moreover, Mushahary lamented that due to financial constraints, some of the projects could not be completed so far.
