Minor boy rescued; kidnapper held

Police and local residents in Santinagar area of Kokrajhar rescued a three-years-old boy by holding the kidnappers red handed on Thursday.

Kidnapped ten days back, the minor boy Manash Mazumdar was rescued from Bishmuri area in the morning.

He was kidnapped by some unknown miscreants from Santinagar who was rescued during a search operation much to the relief of his parents.Identified as Ananta Debnath of Salakati Banderchara, Manash Mazumdar Ananta revealed his misdeed.

He confessed to have kidnapped the boy and took away by an authorikswa from his house. He said Debnath, the main culprit, had kidnapped the boy along with other eight members, of which five sent to jail and three are absconding.
