Car makers waiting till Aug 27

Stunned by the high court order, the

car manufactures are likely to wait till August 27 when the court will be resume its next hearing. For the time being they would make their case with the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers since Assam is among the state have record of highest sale of passenger cars in the North East.

The car manufacturing companies have claimed that a set if stringent crash tests would be applicable from 2017 when testing facilities are available in the country.

The PIL assumed significance in view of the increasing cases of road deaths.
