Center's belated blink to Manipur

The centre is closely monitoring the prevailing law and order situation in Manipur. Violence will only compound the problem. Need of the hour is exercising restraint. This was more or less of what a home ministry team said in Manipur on Tuesday when they were on a stock taking visit to the restive north eastern state a month after 9 people died in a orgy of violence after the assembly passed three controversial bills.

The central team headed by Ashok Prasad, told the agitating people to exercise restraint when they talked to them after arriving in Churachandpur in the morning. Here is the excerpt of the speech for the agitating people.      

"I can feel their pains and I understand their extend of bereavement. Loss of lives would always be a tragedy more so when it involved those who are plucked away in the prime of their lives. As a brother I share your tears and grief and as a friend I stand by you in your prayers for peace to the departed souls.

These are difficult time that we faced today. A difficult situation that can only be move forward with the help and sympathetic participations of all the stake holders. In fact the relative calm that we produced here today is a tribute to your understanding in the face of great tragedy. I appeal to all of you for continuation of this steering and I particularly the role play by the mothers and ladies of this area who have appeared in the forefront in helping to stabilized and pacified an extremely volatile situations.

I am also grateful to the elders and leaders of this area for their guidance and their directions that they have provided and continue to provide to steer us through this stormy period. I pray to them to continue to guide and advise us as we work toward the speedy resolution of the issue and the avoidance of further tragedy.

After this I'll be interacting with the different stake holders assisting and listening to their words of concerns and I will be taking their valuable suggestions. Some of you have already been interacting with the Central government and I am aware of their concerns and of the commitment of the government in Delhi to join prosperity and peace of this region with the rest of the country. It will be my endeavor to understand the nuances and complexity of the situation so that necessary and effective steps can be initiated at appropriate levels to bring back peace and stability to this area."

Why the center is taking time in inclusion of Meitie as ST. The isolation of Meitie in the false pretext of general is a major concern in Manipur. Social integration is hampared by this delay.

The Golaghat district administration has banned manufacturing and packing by Golden Eagle Tea industries hours after a woman died of tea poisoning on Saturday.A woman died after she consumed a cup of tea brewing trouble for a tea company.The incident took place at Aathkhelia area in the district where identified as Pramolota Saikia, fell sick along with her husband and son after sipping tea in the morning.
Properties worth one crore were reduced to ashes when a three storied caught fire in Guwahati on Saturday.The incident took at Barowari in Ujanbazar areas where the fire is believed to have originated from the burst of a cooking gas cylinder. There was no casualty. Five fire fighters arrived the spot.But by then the fire engulfed the entire building rapidly reducing properties worth to the tune of one crore.    
A woman died after she consumed a cup of tea brewing trouble for a tea company.The incident took place at Aathkhelia area in the district where identified as Pramolota Saikia, fell sick along with her husband and son after sipping tea in the morning.According to information, the trio complained of uneasiness and vomiting half an hour after consuming tea of Golden Eagle brand of Binani Group.Premolota died in the morning while husband and son are undergoing treatment in Golaghat Civil Hospital.
Racial discrimination against north east people refuses to die down in New Delhi. This time the victim is a girl from Manpur.It took place at Vijaynagar area in the capital where two youths molested and assaulted the girl in front of his brother.Police have caught one of the duo after the victim lodged a complaint in Model Town police station. Search is on for the miscreant on the run.

Puaram Sarania’s father has filed an FIR against the KMSS president alleging his involvement in the recent self immolation of his son in Dispur.Sarania on Friday went to the Tangla police station and blamed it all on Gogoi for his son’s death after the self-immolation attempt.Notably, Dispur police station alone has two cases pending against Gogoi.   
Both the Union ministers would contest in the heir home seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.The ruling party has finalized the first list of the poll candidates including 6 seats in Assam. Apart from the two ministers Ranne Narah from Lakhimpur, Pawan Singh Ghatowar in Dibrugarh, the party will retain BK Handique in Jorhat and Biren Singh Engti in Diphu. Gaurav Gogoi will contest in Kaliabor while Manas Bora will contest from Guwahati.The list is expected to be announced at an time. Seven other seats would be finalized in a day or two.    
Former Union home secretary GK Pillai is scheduled to visit BTAD areas on March 4.The schedule was finalized in New Delhi on Friday when the union home ministry officials held talks with several Bodo organizations.ABSU and BPPF have opposed the one member panel of expert set up to study and examine the demands.       
RAJU BARUAH FROM TEZPURA road accident has created no less tension in Tezpur on Friday where an irate mob spared not even policemen and journalist.The road accident took place at 11 in the morning where a women, identified as Rubia Begum, was killed on the spot at Bhitior pora under Mohabhoirab police outpost.Local residents in large number who took to the street turned violent where policemen who rushed to the spot were attacked along with media people.Senior police officials rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
