Adivasi Mahasabha to starts from Oct 4
A hectic preparation is in full swing to host 12th Adivasi Mahasabha with three days colourful programme scheduled at Magurmari High School ground from October 2 next in Kokrajhar district.
Stephen Lakra, working president of the Reception Committee of the Mahasabha told that the Mahasabha has been organising to uplift social, literary and community integration of the Adivasi in Assam as well across the country.
Over 2000 delegates from various districts of Assam are participating in the grand function, besides 50,000 people's thronged has been expected on the open session of the Mahasabha. The reception committee has engaged 150 volunteers to serve the Mahasabha to market a grand successful which is the biggest function of the Adivasi community in the state.
Dr Rameswar Oraon, chairman National Commission for Scheduled Tribes will grace as chief guest, BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary has consented to grace as inaugurator on the open session on October 4, Lakra said.

Preparations to holding the 14th Bodoland Day on Wednesday on the historic Bodo Accord day celebration have so far completed at Bodofa Nwgwr, near BTC secretariat in Kokrajhar. A 2 month self defense training programme of school girls’ has been began from Monday at Kaliphukuri High School ground in a demonstration programme in Kokrajhar. Security forces belonging to Police, Army and CRPF apprehended a link man of the NDFB-S in a joint operation at Shantipur area under Kachugaon PS in Kokrajhar district today. Getting information about the working of link man of the militant outfit, security forces conducted an operation in the area and able to arrest a link man, who has been working for the militant outfit organization since long years. A senior second section commander of NDFB (Songbijit faction) was killed in an encounter with security forces at Ranipur area under Runikhata police station of Assam's Chirang district early this morning.
