SC breather for Nabam Tuki

Much to the respite of Nabam Tuki, the Supreme Court on Monday refused to clear a Gauhati High Court’s order for CBI probe into a 10 year old allegation against the Chief Minister. The apex court, however, will hear the plea on November 16. 

The Gauhati High Court ordered a CBI probe against Tuki on August 21 into allegations abusing his official position as PWD minister in awarding vital contracts to his relatives without inviting tenders. Tuki had challenged the order by filing a special leave petition later in the Supreme Court, which stayed the high court ruling. The case will be heard again on November 16.
