Amid a simmering political deadlock, governor JP Rajkhowa is likely to decide on the fate of four cabinet ministers on Wednesday whom Chief Minister Nabam Tuki wants to be dropped.
They are agriculture minister Chowna Mein, Cooperative minister Kumar Waii, women and child development minister Wanglin Lowangdong and food and civil supplies minister Kamlung Mossang and the chief minister wrote to Rajkhowa to drop them.
Sources told Assam Times that AICC has asked Tuki to induct four new ministers as soon as possible to avoid the impending crisis. Notably, Gauhati High Court recently stayed Assembly Speaker's move to accept the resignations of two Congress MLAs — Gabriel Denwang Wangsu and Wanglam Sawin.
