Assam DGP Mukesh Sahay made his maiden visit in Kokrajhar, heart town of BTAD administration today to take brief about law and order situation in the region, ahead PM Narendra Modi's scheduled visit on January 19 next.
Sahay, reaching Kokrajhar visited to SAI Centre, which is to be placed as landing spot and visited too proposed main pandal, near BTC Secretariat ground of PM visit.
DGP held meeting also with high security officials and Kokrajhar deputy commissioner Madhav Prasad Sarma, IGP (BTAD) LR Bishnoi, ADGP RM Singh, SPs from Chirang and Kokrajhar along with officials of Assam Police, Army, CRPF, SSB,BSF at SP office in Kokrajhar.
During the meeting, Sahay took stock about security arrangements including law & order in the district and shared security engagement with high police officials.
Sahay after the meeting told the reporters that he had visited Kokrajhar to take stock of the security arrangment and law & order of the region.He said that PM Modi is visiting Kokrajhar on January 19 next to address a public meeting on his official visit.
He said that police and security agencies are working to the needful steps to the visiting of PM so that any untoward situation can be avoided.Police adminsitartion was stepping against militant outfits in the region and no any militancy situaion be tolerate in the state and strict actions have been initiated.
‘The state police has been putting sufficient security arrangement during ensuing election to conduct the election in free and fair manner’,told Sahay.
