Kamatapur demand force to strand trains

Train services along the North Frontier Railway(NFR) via New Bongaigaon junction of Lower Assam region were disrupted today for nearly eight hours including Rajdhani Express train following rail blockade at Coochbehar of West Bengal state demanding Kamatapur state by Greater Coochbehar Peoples’ Association(GCPA).

The agitators blockaded the rail track with banner,placard,festoone demanding early creation of Kamatapur separate state within Indian constitution.Several long distance super fast express trains including two down(DN) Rajdhani Express train  bound for New Delhi were stranded at New Bongaigaon station of Lower Assam’s Bongaigaon district  for nearly 6-7 hours,besides several trains were halted at various stations.Later,train services were resumed after 3.30 pm.Passengers of the boarded in the trains expressed their resented and have to face hardships on their journey.
