Along with the other part of the country the ‘World Population Day & Fortnight’ and Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight, was being observed on Monday in Kokrajhar.
BTC Secretary Rahila Brahma inaugurated the programme held at Girls College in Kokrajhar, was organized by the Health Department and National Rural health Mission (NRHM).
District programme manager (DPM), NRHM, Kokrajhar Uttam Basumatary attending the programme said during the World Population Day and Fortnight variosu programme like mobilization and services where Female Laparoscopic Sterilization and No-Scalpel Vasectomy for male shall be provided from July 11 to 24 next.
As part of the Diarrhoea Control Fortnight Zinc and ORS would be distributed in every household by ASHAs and Anganwadi workers and counseling will be provided on preventions of Diarrhea. The fortnight will also conduct Hand Washing demonstrations at schools, Anganwadi centers and sub-centres where proper method of hand washing shall be demonstrated. Health institutions shall have ORT Corners where any Diarrhea patients coming to the hospital shall be treated and dealt in the ORT Corner, he said.
