ASI shoots self at Raha police station

An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Raha police station committed suicide by shooting himself at his official residence on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Subhash Gogoi posted at Raha police station in May 21,2015.

The body of the 45-year-old assistant sub-inspector was found lying in a pool of blood on his bed at around 12.10 pm. The deceased shot at his head from point blank range with his service revolver and died immediately.

According to police, though the deceased had been on leave and had come back to resume his duties on Wednesday , he did not take charge back. The reason for his ultimate decision has not yet been ascertained. He hailed from Kahilipara area in Guwahati.
