Binod Kumar Deka, former BTC Secretary joined Chirang District on Friday as Deputy Commissioner relieving Rupak Kumar Mazumder who had been transferred as the Registrar, Cooperative Societies of Govt of Assam.
On his first day of assuming charge as Deputy Commissioner, he held an introductory co-ordination meeting with all departmental heads and staff in his office in presence of the outgoing DC Rupak Kumar Mazumder in the conference hall of the DC's office at Kajalgaon.
Expressing his commitment for the welfare and development of the district, the new DC Deka, sought the help and cooperation of all the officers and staff and called for a team work for the betterment of the district. He also appealed to all to be punctual, honest and sincere while rendering their services. Taking part in the meeting, SP Sankar Brata Raimedhi urged for a coordinated effort from all government machineries to maintain peace and harmony in the district. He appreciated the outgoing DC's working style and for his physical strength and easily accessible to all people.
In his farewell speech, the outgoing DC Rupak Kr Mazumder highlighted the works done by him during his period and thanked the officers and staff for their cooperation and helping hands that extended throughout his service period. He asked the officers and staff of the district to cooperate the new DC Deka as he was helped in the interest of district.
During the programme, he felicitated the media persons present in the meeting and wished the new DC success in his future endeavor. Dasarath Das, ADC, Oinam Saran Kumar Singh, SDO ( C ), Bijni, other officers, staff and media persons were present.
