Forest staff and Dotma police, once again seized Sal logs at Bhutiapara village near Balanga bazaar along the Gongia River which were brought by timber smugglers through river wave under Dotma PS in Kokrajhar district early this morning.
Based on a tiptop information about smuggling timbers through Gongia River,forest staff from Sanfan Range under Kachugaon division and Dotma police jointly launched search operation along the river late last night able to rescue 40 pieces of Sal logs which were brought through river wave by smugglers.
Forest staff led by Santash Basumatary,DFO Kachugaon in association Dotma police rescued the logs. Market value of rescued logs would be Rs.2.5-3 lakhs.
‘Search operation against timber smugglers will be continued’,said Basumatary.
