The Rastriya Ekta Divos (National Unity Day) was observed in Kokrajhar, heart of BTAD administration on the birth anniversary of Sardar Bhallavbhai Patel, former Home Minister of India today along with rest of the country.

A rally was carried out on the occasion to mark the observation where student, teacher and citizens took part with banner, placards which was organized by Kokrajhar district administration.

The rally was flagged off by Vivekananda Choudhury, Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar at DC office complex and traversed via JD Road to Government HS & MP school ground in Kokrajhar. A floral tribute was also offered to Patel and former Prime Minister India late Indhira Gandhi on her death anniversary on the occasion.

Choudhury said that district administration has been observed every year to recall contributions of Patel in the country during freedom movement.

Dr LR Bishnoi, ADGP (BTAD) recalled Patel's contribution towards freedom movement for the nation and development of the country. Patel was regarded as Iron Man of the country for his dedicated life for the society of the country. We must follow ideology and philosophy of Patel to bring more development and integrity in the country, Bishnoi said.

Biren Chandra Phukon, Principal Secretary of BTC, Col. IP Singh, CO of Rajput Regiment were prominent attendees on the occasion.
