Hundreds of trained ANM nurses staged protest demonstration with banner,placards in front of joint director of health services in Kokrajhar today in protest against deprived of nursing recruitment in BTAD region under National Health Mission.
The protest demonstration was carried out under the banner of All BTAD ANM nuse candidate association,demanded early recruitment of trained ANM nurses in BTAD region in the health and family welfare department under NHM.The protestors shouted slogans demanded early stop of recruited ANM nurses who are hailing from non BTAD region.The association said that there are 105 posts of ANM in BTAD dsitricts,but only 32 nurses from BTAD got selected in the recruitment and remaining 73 posts are filled up by non BTAD candidates in their status. A memorandum was also submitted to Chief Minister,Assam through joint director,health services of Kokrajhar demanding early recruitment for ANM trained nurses in the state.
The association alleged that mission director of NHM and state government tactically deprived BTAD nurses by filling the posts from non BTAD region.Protestors said that the recruitments from non BTAD area would not be accepted in our region and we are protesting the newly recruited ANM nurses from other districts in the state.
‘Trained ANM nurses should be selected in the four districts of BTAD’, said an agitated ANM nurse.
Jacinta Narzary,president and Labe Brahma,secretary of the association said that the NHM totally ignored trained up ANM nurses in the recruitment in BTAD districts.
‘Trained ANM nurses applied for the vacant posts that are lying in hospitals in districts,but tactically mission director recruited non BTAD candidates in the region’, they said.
