The weekly evening OPD clinic at Guwahati Press Club (GPC) on 10 June was conducted by the city based Wintrobe Hospital, where Dr Nitin Gupta (urologist & andrologist) and Dr Debajit Baishya (urologist and uro-oncosurgeon) offered free healthcare consultations to over 30 media workers. They were assisted by nurses Jyotshna Dey & Sumi Bora and health-workers Minu Baishya, Simi Saikia, Kakhini Sima etc in conducting the camp, organized under the ‘Evening with a Doctor’ series for the benefit of GPC members along with their dependents.

Book by Bedabrata Baruah released

A book penned by former Union minister Bedabrata Baruah was released by veteran journalist Kanaksen Deka at Guwahati Press Club on Monday. The book titled ‘Mot-Abhimot’ is a collection of articles which were published in Guwahati based newspapers.Releasing the book, the former president of Asom Sahitya Sabha, described Baruah as a non-controversial politician and a man of principle. Opportunity for poor students

The Regional Institute of Science & Technology (RIST), run by the ERD Foundation, Guwahati, has offered a unique facility to poor but meritorious students helping them to pursue their dreams of becoming engineers.
