Sonowal Kachari delegation meets BTC

A 36 members delegation team of Sonowal Kachary Autonomous Council(SKAC) and social organisations of Sonowal community led by Deepuranjan Makrary, chief executive member of the council visited various institutions of BTAD administration that was implemented, including Central Institute of Technology(CIT),Kokrajhar, BTC Legislative Assembly on their two day exposure visit to Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) headquarter Kokrajhar since yesterday.

The team today visited various areas including Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Special Area Games Sports Authority of India complex to see the developmental activities initiated by BTAD administration in council region. The team later visited BTC Legislative Assembly House and Secretariat office where held a meeting with the BTC authority. The SKAC delegation also held a meeting with Hagrama Mohilary,BTC chief at Bodoland Guest House. BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary, BTC principal secretar Biren Chandra Phukan, BTC executive members Daneswar Goyary, Rajib Brahma and senior officials were also present in the meeting. The delegation team reached in Kokrajhar on Thursday evening in Kokrajhar and was accorded warm welcomed by BTC administration on their arrival at Bodoland Guest House,which is the first time ever officilaly visit from SKAC council in BTC area since its formation.

Deepuranjan Makrary,CEM of SKAC said the exposure visit is to see the ground developmental working undertaken by the BTC.He has expresses his happiness after visiting several institutions that was carried out by council administration in the region.He said that developmental activities are found satisfactory and well planned through which citizens in the area are getting influncial.

Kampa Borgoyary, deputy chief of BTC said that the SKAC team reached here to see our council area as we are running BTC in a healthy manner. He said that the BTC arrangement was created under Sixth scheduled of Indian constitution.The council has been infrastructural developmental through special packaged from centre. ‘We shared developmental activities with Sonowal Kachary leaders’,Borgoyary said.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar.
