ABSU, NDFB-P, PJACBM demand centre’s intervention into Gorkhaland situation

The All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) and its allied movement group National Democrtaic Front of Boroland-Progressive(NDFB-P) and Peoples Joint Action Committee for Boroland Movement(PJACBM) demanded seek early intervention of Centre over the boiling situation in Gorkhaland which has been seeing more tense in West Bengal.
Speaking the reporters at Bodofa House in Kokrajhar on Saturday, Promod Boro, president of ABSU urged the centre to take bold step while solving smaller state's issue across the country. He said that GJM should avoid violence activities to meet a democratic agitation to put pressure government in the country. He condemned the ongoing situation in Darjeeling was unwanted for the state. He said the outburst of tension in Darjeeling area is nothing but an unwarranted outcome of the autocratic rule of the Bengal government as well as Government of India’s utter negligence towards the problem.

‘We condemn the unprovoked atrocious act on the part of the Bengal police and their indiscriminate torture on the unarmed civilians in the streets of Darjeeling. Recovery of the so-called lethal weapons from the office of the GJM as shown in the media footage is but a planted and making of the Bengal police. The torching of the vehicles of the media house is a part of conspiracy hatched by the Bengal police to blame the GJM. The Bengal police with their repressive mentality are working as the burglars by barging the office of the GJM, a registered political party’, he said.

Boro being member of the National Federation for New States (NFNS) expresses our support and solidarity towards the Gorkha people’s movement for Gorkhaland. He also urges the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha leadership to lead the movement through democratic, peaceful and non-violent means. He has urged government of India’s immediate intervention into the matter and concedes Gorkha people’s demand for Gorkhaland state for a permanent peace in the region. He has put demand of immediate intervention of Government of India on the matter of Gorkhaland Movement as it was a pre-pole commitment of the BJP party in the region; the central committee of BJP should clear its official stand on the issue and stop police atrocities on democratic masses of Gorkhaland.

Boro also demanded early creation of smaller states across the country including Bodoland, Gorkhaland, Vidarbh, Bundelkhand, Twipraland, Purbanchal, Harid Pradesh.

Dhiren Boro, president of NDFB-P demanded early creation of separate Bodoland state to meet healthy development and welfare of the region. Boro alleged that BJP party has failed to fulfill hope and aspiration that was promises during the 2014 parliamentary elections.
