Disrupting leopard killed, consumed in Namrup

NAMRUP:A section of people in a remote hamlet in Namrup killed a leopard hours after it killed a lady and hurt 3 others in a series of attack on Friday morning. Not only that after lynching, the villagers cut the animal into pieces in full view of the forest officials. Then they  claimed to have consumed it triggering widespread anger among the animal lovers.

These disturbing incidents took place in Majkopihuwa goan and Asomiya Gaon where the local villagers in large number chased the leopard after it killed Maikon Gogoi and injuring three others in s series of attacks in the morning.

The animal then was beaten up to death. A section of them cut it into pieces to vanished. Some of them later claimed to have consumer it which needs to be probed.

The reason why the leopard attacked people is not mentioned. A leopard won't just go on an attack spree. I would assume that these would have been either chance encounters or the leopard retaliating when provoked

 CBI is believed to have found some startling facts on the multi crore Saradha scam when it raided Himanta Biswa Sarma, Anjan Dutta, Sadananda Gogoi and Shankr Baruah. According to sources, CBI officials have been examining the documents seized during the raids in Guwahati on Friday. More raids could be carried out in a day or two.  
The Assam government will improve infrastructure at the Assam-Nagaland border outposts. Security forces deployed there would get sophisticated equipment. This was what a crucial meeting chaired by chief secretary JS Khosla decided hours after two more bodies were found after the violence along the Nagaland border which took the toll to 11. The meeting decided to repair the 81 border outposts and provide additional infrastructure like barracks, fencing, bunkers and facilities for water and sanitation. Police recovered two decomposed bodies from Uriamghat area along the inter-state border, taking the toll in the violence to 11. According to information, the decomposed bodies were buried. They were identified to be of Robet Kaso (40) and Balu Ghatowar (35). On the other hand, over 5,099 people living in relief camps have returned home. Of the 14 relief camps, three have been closed so far.

 There is no trace of the two school boys even after a month has passed since they have gone missing in Uriamghat. The family members of Ajoy Gaur and Philson Kujur who were believed to have been kidnapped on their way back from the school, moved Uriamghat police station and Ralan police station in Nagaland side. But there is no trace yet. Now the family members have been mounting pressure on the police atleast to recover the bodies for the last rites.      
A judicial enquiry will unearth the truth behind the killing of school girl Priya Basumatary by NDFB(S) militants who alleged her to be a police informer. The government will officially write to the Gauhati High Court in the next few days. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Nilamani Sen Deka announced it in the assembly on Tuesday as the House discussed the incident.
