Tong-IL-Moo-Do championship held in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: A two day championship of 1st All Assam Tong-IL-Moo-Do championship 2019 was concluded today at Kokrajhar Govt HS &MP school ground.

Nearly 200 participants from different seven districts of the state are participated the championship.

The championship was organized by Assam Tong-il-Moo-Do Association to create sporting environment among other in the state. The participants have presented beautiful showcase of tong-il sporting attraction in the arena.

Kokrajhar district was adjusted best team in the championship which have presented attractive sporting environment.

BTAD IGP Anurag Agarwal graced as chief guest on the prize distribution ceremony of the championship.

Agarwal distributed the prizes among the prize winners.

Vice Chancelore of Bodoland University Prof L Singh, president of Bodoland Wushu Association Jubiraj Basumatary, Secretary of the Assam state Tongil Moo Do association Jutikha Brahma,BTC CHD for Sports Jajnawati Basumatary were prominent attendees on the occasion.

Secretary of the association Jutikha Brahma told that the Tong-il-Moo-Do sporting is a unified sporting event in the world. The federation was working for the sports since 2010 for its uplift. He has appreciated state championship organisers for organizing the event which has gathered healthy participation from different districts. He said that the sport event is getting good recognition from the school games federation of India (SGFI)  as federation was working for the uplifting the sporting environments. She said that good numbers of participants took part in the championship.

Organiser of the championship, Jajnabati Basumatary said that the state championship was concluded  here in Kokrajhar to promote sporting arena and today seeing good numbers of participation. She said that the championship is getting healthy attractive sporting showcase in the champion arena.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar. A five-day mountaineering training program, organized by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare department of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government, begins on Thursday at the Dangdupur Hills Site in Kokrajhar. Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) team won the trophy defeating Lai Autonomous Council (LADC) of Mizoram 1-0 in the final match of inter sixth schedule premier league -2022 being held at SAI SAG center,Kathalguri Titaguri in Kokrajhar district.
