Physical assault on magistrate in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: In a heart touching incident, Kokrajhar SP Rajen Singh physical assaulted  EAC Sailen Das at a gettogeter inside a hotel in Kokrajhar as video of CCTV footages state.

The incident has come into light after a video became viral on social media on Friday.

According to sources, there was a get together organised by district administration at Hotel Gaurang Valley on September 9 where the incident took place. 

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal ordered an official inquiry into the incident.

RTI activist Dural Bora also filed a compalint in this regard with CID Assam on Saturday.

KOKRAJHAR: An unidentified dead body was  recovered at Borjhora river near Tinkhona village under Fakiragram PS in Kokrajhar district on Sunday morning. The body was witnessed floating on the river,by the locals and later the police arrived. The unidentified body bored clear injury marks.The deceased ia suspected to be from the neighbouring villages. "The body has been sent for post mortem and the matter is being investigated", said a police official.

Kokrajhar: The All Assam Minority Students Union (AAMSU)  slammed the state government as well district administration for not allowing the students union to stage protest against D-voters issue in the state.  AAMSU was supposed to stage a protest against government over D-voters’ issue in Kokrajhar town near Children Park. Hundreds of students union and minority people gathered at the venue, but district administration refrained them from holding protest rally.
